While writing the manuscript, Kevin saw Eric Dodge perform live when the recording artist opened for Carrie Underwood at a concert on the 4th of July. Upon hearing him sing, Kevin thought Eric's voice would be perfect to bring the captsone-song from THE FINAL NOTE to life, so he sought him out. From there, Eric and his talented band turned the lyrics from the book into a beautiful country ballad titled "Heaven In Her Smile."
